Happy Birthday to Travis. Yesterday the monster celebrated his second yr bday! Unlike last year where he celebrated his birthday with family members, which I doubt he remembers anything, we've planned something different for him this year.

1) First part of the celebration: In school
2) Second part of the celebration: Sentosa, Underwater world.

I have been scratching my head many times: A normal cake, or a customised cake. Of course, money was the key factor leading to this deliberation but finally, I have decided to get a customised one because there wasn't a big celebration and we wanted something meaningful for him. So a customised cake we got, and of course, it has to be his ultimate, favourite 'thing', a rocket. Thanks to michelle, we engaged aunty yochana, a decision which i never regretted at all. It was between her fondant space cake and 7th manna's space themed cake. We chose the fondant one and boy, i couldn't conceal my smile when I saw the cake. IT was sooo pretty!

Some pictures of the cake and celebration in school. It was a pity that travis was cranky cause he just got up and hasn't warmed up yet, so he was in tears and refused to get down to cut his cake. BUt after that, he was back to his crazy self.

The main rocket body was the only part we brought home. We wanted travis to have something to see later in the day ahaha. The rest, distributed to everyone. Yummies. The cake, was really GOOD!

This is alastair, Travis's best friend in school. The 2 of them could just engage themselves in games and play and ignoring the others! And Alastair is the only one Travis would willingly hug, other than Trishelle. haha. Guess it's because the 2 of them spend the MOST time together, usually till the time I pick Travis up.
Then we headed off, to Vivo, for some lunch at sushi tei, he made a mess, eating ramen. The monster just wants to feed himself these days, so we let him be. Then off to the tram to sentosa!That's all we took! haha ended the day at dolphin lagoon and it was SO SOOOOO Hot!! and immediately after the dolphin show, he knocked out!! must be so tiring!

Travis the menace

As the name implies. He's reaching the very hard to be controlled stage where he just flares up if he doesn't get what he wants. he hits us, rolls on the floor, screams and shouts. we try not to show him the cane and try to reason out with him but the latter doesn't really work when he's still very worked up. Sigh.

October has been a real real real busy month. We had bro-in-laws wedding, which we went for a hotel stay, followed by a LONG period of illness for both Travis and trishelle. The much dreaded stomach flu attack. Travis was so badly hit that he's become SOooo skinny now. And trishelle, that poor girl, she also vomitted and diarrhoea-ed so much! Work has been so busy too. so much to do with the students, I am SO GLAD I am not a smart student, or rather, maybe I am so glad I was a student in the past! Their committments are SO full these days!

Nevertheless, all is well now with the 2 of them, all fully recovered to wreak havoc!

Here's some newsletter updates: still on the topic of trains.Travis is better at verbalising his thoughts now, though still very much talking in his own language, but he could surprise us with things that we never thought he knew. He could tell us that rocket is a spaceship. He really absolutely loves rockets to bits. A future astronaut? haha. He will request to draw, paint a rocket on his hand, on the drawing paper or even look for rocket toys. He could actually fill in missing letters of the ABC song when we stop and pause. He could also count from 1 to 10 in both mandarin and english. Although all these may seem a little slow for him to achieve at this stage, he still surprised us. :)

I love the way he counts in mandarin. Hilarious. Jeff says sounds like Ang-mo. haha!

Newsletter: all about trains.

Trains was their main learning topic for the past week. We have contributed a thomas train set for their learning in school, wonder if it was used in the end. hah!

Travis must have enjoyed the last activity!! No wonder he loves to get our HL milk box after we've finished drinking. ahha!

Trishelle is already 7months. How time flies. She has started on solids already, once a day, cereal, next week, it will be 2 times a day. Following month then intro porridge. :) hehe.

She loves snacking too! Don't know inherit from me or Jeff, but her brother doesn't have the sAME liking for tidbits/biscuits/rusks as she has.

It was meant to be a polliwogs trip for travis with the other nov kids. BUt guess what, jeff took leave! haha so we went out, settling some admin --> collection of trishelle's passport which was WAYYYY overdue. haha :)

I feel so guilty. Travis had LOADS of bathtime shots. Now, trishelle... ummm. THis is the first time i've taken photos of her enjoying her bath at 5.5months. Feel so ashamed and terrible. haha!! One thing is really --> no chance to take lah! HAve to keep the monster away and entertained when she is bathing, else he'll come and insist he have his bath too!

And see what i mean? the monster comes and intrude.. so we had to stop taking photos of trishelle and focus on him instead.. so he'll get distracted posing and not disturb trishelle!

Newsletter from eton

This is part of the second newsletter from eton that I've received. Can you spot travis? hehe.Both JEff and I agreed that he has really grown up from attending school. He is definitely more independent and he has grown so much CUTER! haha! *Thick skin hor*

Yesterday I witnessed for myself that he can actually FEED himself. Okay, it's a big milestone achieved cause at home, when we feed him, it's either he spits out all the food OR, he will put his hand into the food and play with it whenever we're not looking. It's a total mess. Thus I was surprised when I see him able to take the spoon and feed himself without dripping or dropping anything on the floor. It must have been the training in school. SO happy to see him learning and growing up positively each day.

After attending school, he's become very smiley whenever he comes home. haha. Below, are just some photos of his nighttime ritual. Watch barney, play toys, fall asleep.

Weather was the theme they are learning at eton last week. We had to get Travis this set of raincoat and wellies the last minute and they cost a BOMB!! THanks to my cousin who told me that we can get the raincoat and wellies from Tangs.

Lesson learnt:: next time prepare all in advance! haha! Am so going to get larger sizes standby first.

Being sick is what travis has been for the past wkend and for a few days now. That's the draw back of going to school. I look forward to the day he grows used to the environment!

Positivity

When i signed Travis up for school, I wondered if it was too early. I wondered if he would be 'very poor thing' as described by mom and MIL. I wondered if he will be able to sleep well. I wondered if he will be able to eat well. I wondered if he would cry. I wondered if he would be bullied. Never ending wonders. OR should i say WORRIES. Now, I truly understand why parents will never stop worrying for their children the moment they are born. Small to big, worry this worry that.

Anyways, some updates of Travis at school. He has been coping Very Very well. He no longer Cries badly when we leave him at school, just whine a little here and there. His form teacher says he is very participative at outdoor play and is very happy at music and song time (he will dance and even march around the room with the others). He is also willing to eat at the same table with other kids now. I am so happy to hear how school has changed him. Jeff will drop him every morning, and try to wait till his fav teacher comes before he leaves. we noticed that he doesn't really like (haven't get used to her yet i guess) the morning shift teacher, so he will tend to cry when she carries him and separates him from Jeff. I guess that is normal. Afterall, she teaches the K1 and K2s and travis doesn't see her much except in the mornings. I look forward to the day he accepts her.

Received Eton's newsletter update today and I am so glad to see travis's photos and how he has been enjoying himself! These days, when I go pick him up, he is always smiling and waves bye to teachers. HE has also learnt to say more words now, as his teacher points out that they will encourage them to talk rather than point and make noises.

Here's some of his picts, that i've cut out from the newsletter. I am so going to look forward to their newsletter, which is a bi weekly thing. haha. At least i know what travis has been doing.

Here is one that shows one of the activities, they make their own snack using pretzel sticks (teachers will teach them some counting) and using orange mamalade (teachers will teach them colours) on the butter roll (teachers will teach them shape - circle) and then they will eat and enjoy. How fun it must have been for him.

Dear all, if you are wondering how Travis is coping at cc, here's some updates.

Day 1 and Day 2 - Daddy accompany him (cause i have to work ma! school start liao... *STRESS*)
Day 1 - 29june
Reached around 8am, was willing to come down, run, play with puzzles etc. Then when it's time to go into classroom - cry - expected cause he HATES to be confined to a room. Was ok during bath time and slept at 10am - teachers pat him to zzz. Up at 11 plus am, refuse to have lunch, still crying so teachers asked jeff to bring him home.

Day2 - 30june
Same morning ritual of crying in the morning till around 10plus then he zzzz. Up at 11 plus am, was willing to actually try some lunch but sill depended on milk. So he finished up all the 3 servings of milk, 3 cubes of cheese. This time we packed along his rocket toy in his bag so he was fine just having it in his hand. His teachers told me that when other kids want to touch that toy he got ANGRY. haha!! Still quite whiny.

After 2 days - wants to be carried A LOT and doesn't really want to come down. Bath time is okay.

Day 3 - 1July
Morning - same same. Teachers told me that he is very attached to one teacher who is present only in the mornings till 115pm. So travis sticks to her a lot and cries when she is out of his sight. Oh dear, i hope she doesn't look like me! It's much better today cause he is willing to sit on the chair to eat his food. Also, he managed to zzz at the same time as the other kids at 1215pm. Waterplay on wed, teachers said initially refused to join, so thry brought toys closer to him and lured him to play. Finally he played! after water play and bath - cry again (11something - recall last 2 days he slept ard 10am plus). So teachers figured he wanted to zzz, and they tried to push back his zzz time by distracting him with other stuffs. Success. Today when he cried for attention - not actually cry but whine (super irritating noises), the teachers ignored him and it worked. He stopped whining and sat down and played other stuffs. So they told me they will use this approach as they realsed the moer they gave in to him, the more he wants to be carried and unwilling to join the group.

Well, definitely much better today. I hope he keeps up his good work!

Trishelle loves to sit up these days. She hates being in the lying mode all the time. haha, well back too hot la i guess. And she will keep wanting to LIFT her head up, so we thought: time to take out that HOT SEAT again! :)

Here she is! Looking so bored hor. ahaha. She's actually watching BARNEY! well, it's hard for her not to be familiar with it since she's been conditioned to 'watch' it in my tummy! Poor Trishelle. What has Travis done to her. well, not for long. When Travis starts cc next mon, no more TV, at least till he comes home, which is good too, cause next month, electricity bills gg to be up by 7%!!!

Flying ... the aeroplane..

Well, no chance yet BUT... who says we cannot fly a remote controlled one! haha!

Enjoy the pictures. Taken when Jeff took a day's leave on tues. Travis had SO MUCH fun. but he was SO HOT HOT HOT! we need to find a better and more spacious area for flying.

Next one would be... haha KITE flying! I bought Travis a kite because he so wants one and each time he watches barney with that kite flying episode, he will go kite kite kite. hahaaaa and nodding his head profusely indicating that he wants one. So finally, at a cheap cheap price, i got him one! hoho! hoping to try out tmr morning, but we'll see.

For the monster. It has been weighing on our minds to get him a table and chair so he could learn to sit, learn, play, eat using it. Due to space constraints (well, ILs say we take up TOO MUCH place) hahaaaaa, so we decided to settle for this one.It works JUST AS WELL. An easel and a table. What more could we ask for! hoho.

It had been ages since I've been there. I forgot how it looked like! haha same for jeff too. So we grabbed the chance to pop down last tues, the day where travis's goddad collected his new toyota rushhhh. woooo. too bad didn't manage to take any photos of the car. haha. :)

It was a day where travis ate some fries, wasn't the first time he ate but it was that day he ate A LOT! well, i guess it's ok to indulge him once in a while la hor?

Travis is into blabbering very much now. He has learnt to say more words, but his favourite words still remain at go, fly, five. haha. Today he learnt how to say cold when I took his favourite cheese spread out, and the moment he touched the bottle, he said cold. well, i think he definitely knows much more then we know, just that he doesn't want to show it to us. PROUD ma. Lately, he's getting more cheessssy. he just cannot be satisfied with one cube of laughing cow cheese. Keeps dragging anyone to open the fridge so he could SEARCH for the cheese. HAHAHA.

Going to be a random post with the 2 kids. :) Loads of pictures so bear with me . ahaha Been a while since i uploaded or updated anything. haha!!

Loads of feasting over the wkend with Fathers day and my mom's bday celebration. WAHhahaha. :)

First up, Trishelle. Noticed I haven't taken any photos of her ever since she started sitting in her car seat!
How it looks like in the car. sOOOO crammppppeddd! we need a 7seater! no money ley..

Somemore of her, she loooves the new light toy her dad bought in HK. of course. that was actually meant for travis.. poor girl. daddy got u nothing. haha!And here is the monster. :) So yaya in his king's throne. Can't wait to sit on it each time - which means gg out time! haha!Some of his bath time shots... :) He dreads gg to bath these days but when he's inside, he refuses to get out!! infuriating.

Time flies. Next wk's monday will be a different start for both me and travis. HOpe we'll both get used to the change!

Rocket fun!

Travis is a big fan of rockets. Maybe it's barney that helped us discover he loooves rockets. he loves the countdown : 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... blast off!! and it's always accompanied by the hand gestures of flying...

ok so jeff n i thought to bring him to science centre *THE SHOP ONLY* to search for some rocket toys *the one we bought for him previously was too heavy for him to carry around* and we found some!! or rather, we bought him a rocket pen with lights and also this water rocket toy that can actually be propelled!

Haha ok, those scenes where u see him running about is me playing paper aeroplanes with him cause jeff is trying to get the rocket to work and we need some form of distraction for travis. AND BOY, it was HOT HOT HOT!

I truly think so. :) Let the pictures speak for themselves. It is so fun watching them play together (using eye language for trishelle).

Remember I once described that Travis would insist Trishelle to ride with him on his vtech scooter whenever he plays with it? Well, you shall see. :)

He enjoys having her around him. Haha as for trishelle, well, i can't really say for sure if she is enjoying it.
And the best part is he doens't want us to hold onto the scooter when he wants to ride off with trishelle on it!

Too late? i hope not. haha HAve always wanted a cot mobile. I heard it helps soothe bb to bed! and i must say yes it really does. Couldn't bear to part with the money to invest in one for travis and hehe thanks to my mommy.. yay! trishelle got one! she loves it. can stare at it and buys me some time to do my own stufffffs!

is it too late to invest in one when she is already 3 months old? i hope not eh! haha! this one can be converted to a table top lamp which is super cute. maybe she can use it in future.

In other news.. Travis is SICK! poor boy. he has been having an irritating cough + phlegm and a dripping nose and a NASTY fever! it's been the 3rd day liao, fever still lingers on and off. sighs. if it doesn't get better tmr, we will bring him to doc again.

And.. to pity that poor travis, he got a new toy ROCKET! he's super duper into rockets. he loves rockets. much much more than cars, planes, trains, buses. An astronaut in future? perhaps.

Ready for School? - Travis

It's Confirmed. Travis will be going to school starting June 29th. We've confirmed him a place in Eton *vanda rd* - bukit timah area... And his first day of school will also be MY first day of school in my new school. Well, i hope i didn't make a wrong decision to ask for a transfer. Definitely will miss all my TJ friendsssss!! The distance to travel is just unbearable. Sighs. BUt on a positive note, i can pick Travis up after school *provided I get to go home early* - i doubt...

Is he ready? i think so? He is really bored at home, to the extent that he is playing with things he is not supposed to and incurring our wrath very often. I wonder how he will cope in CC. I hope he won't create a din and ease into the place easily. The last few times we brought him there, he totally forgot about us and even waved us goodbye. Hope things remain the same when is time for him to attend school.

I think Travis loves Trishelle. HE shows it openly. He will kiss her whenever he sees her lying alone on the bed or in the rocker. HE NEVER KISSES any of us, grandma, grandpa, even me or Jeff. He will want to lift her up to carry her, of course, he can't so he will make the 'eee eee eee' sound as if he is using all his strength but cannot lift her up. Haha so funny. He talks to her in his own gibberish language. Trishelle does seem to understand as she always looks at her brother so intently. Her eyes tend to follow travis around when he is in her zone of vision. HEHE! I hope next time he'll be the big brother protecting his little sister.

Trishelle is a typical baby. Why do I say this? haha Travis is an atypical baby! He doesn't enjoy the toys we bought for him when he was a baby. Trishelle on the otherhand, LOVES them! She has started to really enjoy the toys when we show her and will talk to them.

HAha, Trishelle is getting to be a monster. Wants to be carried all day long, when she is awake. Okay, to carry is still not that bad, but she still demands us to walk around with her in tow! Can you imagine that. Terrible. When Travis cries, she cries and vice versa. It's so tiring to run after the big one, and to carry and walk around with the small one.

In other news, GOSH, the monitor has JUST decided to give way. NO PC for us now. Just when all the sales have ended, it decided to break down. grrr.

No, should correct myself. haha when CUte little babies meet. I went for a march mommies gathering, together with Trishelle. Travis stayed home, of course. Though it was just a few hrs, it was so much fun. Guess having Travis really helped boost my confidence that I could handle a baby outside alone, a baby and a bag. lucky thing is she is still feeding on me, so there really wasn't much barang to carry, just her diapers and wipes.

Food was catered and it was so much fun seeing all the cute babies. There's another bigger gathering coming up, but sigh jeff has said NO because of the swine flu, saying it's safer at home but wells, see if i can convince him to let me go.

It was our first time there since it opened. Haha. Don't call us Mountain Turtles, At least we made it there, with 2 kids. Of course, no fun alone, hehe, Javier and Family went with us!!

Really have no time to type more, shall let the pictures speak for themselves. They had so much fun - Travis and Javier. Unfortunately, Travis is truly a scaredy cat. He is so naughty, so wilful, but so scared of water. I don't understand why when he loves bath time so much. on the other hand, Javier had SO much SO much fun! Sighs. And he's such a good boy. At least he's scared when others *like me* scold him (not deliberately hor.)

He seemed to miss wearing it.. or should i say, seemed to miss being IN IT. Here, Travis and the swaddling wrap episode. We left it on the bed, to wrap Trishelle in it before we went out and he just took it, dragged it along, EVERYWHERE in the house.

Then jeff asked him: U want to wear huh? He nodded his head profusely, so this is it.
Haha, he was REALLY satisfied then~ And when the hood dropped off, he tried to put it back on himself.

And NO, he didn't WANT ANY HELP.
Finally, haha we managed to q uickly put it back on him, Here he is - GLUED to the TV.

Last sunday, we left Travis home, and brought Trishelle to Jurong Pt alone. Well, ask me if i missed Travis - NO hahaa. HEartless eh, but i've truly forgotten how peaceful life could be without him around. Dinner was easy, shopping was fussfree, carrying was light. haha.

Now it seems, it's hard to buy something of her own cause mostly are toys used by Travis, and we bought almost everything for him haha! but we will still try to make an effort to get her HER OWN toys.

Well, confinement is definitely, JUST FOR ME. Haha Travis is always out on the wkends with Jeff, shopping. OH HOW I MISS IT. Even now, if confinement is over, i wonder how i can get my old shopping life back with a baby and a toddler.

Well, here's some of him :)

He's a lazy boy. He loves to lie down to watch tv. He doesn't want to hold his milk bottle. He prefers to lean on something whenever he feels there is something for him to lean on. He has all the VERY bad habits. I wonder where they all CAME from. NOT ME! haha!

Here's Travis playing with the ELC bubble blower that was a gift from Trishelle when she came home. He absolutely loves the bubbles. :) Travis knows he has a sister now. He points to her when we ask him " where's meimei ? " haha! He runs to look when she cries, and when she sleeps, he also wants to peek. I wonder how it'll be as they grow up.

Travis is getting more and more monstrous. His temper is HORRIBLE. The whole family is putting up with him now because he's not well. And we believe that once he gets well, all be back to normal. FINGERS crossed.

His bad ways:
He screams like nobody's business.
He fidgets badly when he doesn't get what he wants.
He wants to be carried ALL the time.
He doesn't seem to be satisfied with any form pacifying.
When it gets too much, we just leave him in a corner for him to cry it out till he stops.

TERRIBLE days.

I hope things improve. Trishelle is still in the US time zone. Well, I shall also be more patient with her. :)That's all for now folks! :)

Travis is sick. Poor thing. PD said it was a viral infection and he couldn't stomach his food, milk, even the delicious yummy Pedialyte. Gosh. It was really tiring times for everyone. It started tues evening and till today, thurs, he is still NOT well. He's thinned so much! Sighs.

Cranky as ever, always want to carry, stick by me, it's really frustrating and irritating. Bed sheet was changed yesterday cause he vomitted twice on the bed. GOSH.

Really worried he'll infect his sis so we have to be very very careful.

We brought him to Suntec last friday.. and these were taken outside the Nokia care centre. Well, why we had to go there - Don't ask why or how it happened, he was playing with Jeff's phone till we heard a kiak sound and tah dah. 2 of the keypad buttons CAME OFF!! OMG.

One button was still sort of 'stuck' outside his mouth.. with the saliva while the other, jeff managed to dig it out!

Here, he's testing see if he can get anything from the machines...
And when someone came along, he quickly hurried over to 'see' what they got!

Such A coincidence. Travis shares the same bday month as me = November and now Trishelle will also share the same bday month as Jeff = February. Well well, super outdated pictures. hehe :)

Playdays lesson - Grapes...

And though Grapes come in 2 colours - personally, I prefer the purple ones... but Travis loooves GREEN grapes, well at least, he painted the grapes GREEN.

Here, the teachers are introducing Grapes to them, and they did it by mixing grapes into plain yogurt! Oh my... Look how interested the kids are.. HAHAA i wonder if it's the grapes - or yogurt..

And then the painting Activity!! hehe See, green and purple paint available.. but Travis only chose to play with Green. I think Green is truly his fav colour.

I haven't updated Travis's blog in SO LONG. *guilty* But well, you can guess. I am already on leave and totally LEFT WITH ZERO me time. I used to be able to update his blog in school but now.. haha Nooo Time!

Just some random updates:
1) Travis learnt to walk when he was exactly 15Months old, on the 3rd Feb 2009.
2) We celebrated Jeff's bday over the wkend of 7th and 8th Feb with my parents and Parentsinlaw.
3) We've also confirmed the date for Trishelle's arrival:: 26th Feb thurs.
4) We are still not sure if Trishelle will be the final name.... haha!
5) We bought him the little tikes fire engine Car cause JP's Toyrus was having a CLEAROUT SALE! 50% off All items! Jeff had a hard time cleaning it CLEAN.
6) We also got him a present that we are going to say it's from his little sister.. but still not sure when to present it to him - hosp? or when we're gg home?
7) TRAVIS IS STILL AS STICKY

Bananas... Was what Travis learnt on sat - his .. umm.... 4th playdays lesson! How time flies. The 2 of them just GOT UP from the car nap. :)

Travis is probably - i think he is, the last one in class who still doesn't know how to walk? but he loves to hold our hands to bring him wherever he wants to go - on his feet. But wells, it was a tiring day for us - other than losing money, we also were losing our sanity trying to keep Travis in Check.

Travis's 3rd lesson at playdays: Oranges.

First they had outdoor play!

Opps, I just realised. haha No updates in a week! Well, u can expect this loh, cause school has started and not much time at home to take his pictures! :)

Here's some photos to share for Travis's second lesson at playdays. Seems like this will be a weekly update ehs? HA! He didn't seem to enjoy himself as much as the last lesson but it's probably - well I HOPE IT IS, due to the fact that he just got up from his nap in the car and not fully AWAKE to enjoy the lesson.

Nevertheless, the fruit that they learnt last week was WATERMELON! and he loooves the watermelon juice. heheI love it too! too bad it's a nono for me right now. :)

The class was extremely fun. It started off with just some free play, then introduction to some songs and music, then Stripping down naked (nappy still on though) for some art and craft, and then rest (feasting) and finallly more song and play, till it ended off with some bubbles playing.

Travis enjoyed himself. Only cried when was cleaning up time and towards the end a little cranky.. I guess he's tired. :)

HE is sure getting tired of having cereals everyday for breakfast. I do vary the tastes and flavours okay, heinz, nestle.... but despite rotating, I can see he's getting quite tired of eating the same foods. So, we decided to give him some specials....

Here's what he had for breakfast for yesterday and today.

In other news, Travis could take about 2 to 3 unassisted steps today! and yesterday.. but well, progress is slow as he prefers crawling.. very much.

Haircut.

IT was a 'rainy' day for Travis yesterday. After last sunday's failed attempt at his haircut at suntec city, we made another try - this time - at vivo city. It started off okay. ahaha, cause we didn't make him wear the 'cape' and he was kept busy *if 5mins was good enough* with the toys there. Haha. BUT!!! the turn of events came when the hairdresser took out the 'shaver' hahah, there, he cried buckets and buckets, but i must say the hairdresser was very - STEADY. She just continued, whilst trying to distract him here and there. :)

We went back to my mom's place for him to have lunch and a bath, and then, a little shopping for toys at CSC. That monster seemed to have forgotten his 'ordeal'. There. The results after a haircut! He loooves the peekaboo game LOADS!! haha. He can just play it with us anywhere. :) ANytime. US - Jeff, Travis and Me of course. Look so fat. sigh. can't wait to download little Trishelle so I can work on slimming down!

After that, The monster was really tired and we decided to head home. Since CSC was so near our home, we couldn't resist driving by to have a look. It is ALMOST READY! We can't wait to see it's final Look!That's all! Yups. School is going to start next wk and there won't be as frequent updates! heh!

Busy day.

It was a busy busy day for us today. Wanted to go to the zoo but Javier's still under the weather.. (not blaming you Javier.. ), so jeff decided not to go on our own since Travis is 'unwalkable' so won't have fun if we go alone. Sighs, I was really Looking fwd to a zoo trip. Nonetheless, our day was equally packed filled with activity, just loitering around our zone - Jurong Point.

Ever since it expanded, we never had enough of that place. Whether is it the NTUC cars, or the food (restaurants) or shopping, every trip, we felt, wasn't really that fulfilling. Today was no exception. We started the day with breakfast (OF COURSE!), but we headed off to JPoint for burger king's breakfast - left disappointed cause they don't serve breakfast there! So we settled for Swensen's, which is a pretty good choice after all - quite afforable - less than 10dollars a person. Pretty okay eh?

4) Whilst eating, his sharp eye caught a glimpse of our drink...

5) And here's the look when he cannot have what he wanted. haha, it was pretty fun - the breakfast experience. After that, Jeff decided to hold him by the hand to try walking...

We are very much surprised, at how many steps he could actually take. Perhaps he could walk realllly soon! tomorrow? perhaps. ahaha! Then we went to NTUC for his car ride and some grocery shopping. And then home - for a quick 30min nap and lunch - mee sua with minced meat.

After lunch, we decided that - hey, not enough of Jurong Point yet! so we decided to head back there and so nice, Joey convinced Ben to come to Jurong Point to join us for dinner despite knowing it'd be VERY crowded. But that family sure know how to take their time. First - Mother go rebonding. Then she said, she's done and can leave once she's home to take a bath. Third, she told me - Ben cutting Javier's hair - OMG. Okay we waited..... Patience. and finally - say they feeding JAvier milk - WA!! haha. but they finally came and we settled for Bakerzinn! :)

Whilst waiting, we decided to bring Travis to the library. IT was his first trip there and he really ENJOYED it. We're definitely going to bring him there more often. But, Monster being Monstrous, look at what he did.. after being nice to read books for just 5mins.
Haha, he climbed on the chair and started pointing and gibbering rubbish. Needless to say, after that, he was crawling all over! Such a tough time cleaning his 'paws'. Muahaha.

That's all. So tiring. After dinner, shop, he totally zonked out. Till next post!

How was your first day of 2009 everyone? Hahaha. I hope all's been GREAT so far, and here's wishing everyone a superb year ahead from Us, the Ten family. :)

We had a great time yesterday, starting witha morning walk along the corridor.. Sighs, have to think of more ways to make that lazy boy walk.Then we went for lunch at turf city with Jeff's friends, hokkaido Japanese restaurant, buffet style and the food is yummmmy! Worth going definitely for sure absolutely! Will be back for more! :) Of course, what's a post without pictures? Here's Reyes and Travis making contact. Reyes is really super fair and handsome! They are about 11months apart. :)
After lunch, we headed off to Javier's place, in case Javier's dad miss Jeff haha! Those 2 guys! :) Only one photo of the handsome javier. Travis is such a bad example! Topple things, throw toys, and Javier, who could already walk, followed Travis into crawling around!
A fruitful day. :) Looking fwd to zoo trip with Javier on Sat! Hope it doesn't rain and not too hot!!

Again, yes. But this time it's at a public pool! It took us loads of courage before we decided: okay, let's try! So we pumped his float - which was a waste of effort cause he didn't want to get into the float! and we packed all his stuffs - including his bath stuffs - when we haven't figured how to bath him yet! hehe.

Nevertheless, we SET off! :) Went to the Jurong East swimming complex which was a huge place filled with fun and laughter from children. Not so much for Travis though. Think we need to expose him more cause he was actually afraid of the water! well, not exactly considered afraid - I'd like to think of it as - the water is tooo cold. heh!

He had 2 rounds with Jeff. First round, rest, daddy had his swim, second round, bath with daddy before daddy went for his final round. :) Here, you can see he's had enough. HAHAHA!

Travis managed to stand very much longer than he usually could yesterday! Well, that was when he kept bugging me to play his thomas bubble machine for him and hahha, I was glad I did. :)Can you tell how happy he was? Just waiting for bubbles to appear and flapping his arms in the air. haha! :) I hope he'll walk soon! He's already going to be 14months this saturday!!!

Before the photos become outdated. muahahhaa. Brought him to the new Jurong Point for Lunch yesterday! We decided on Bakerzinn after a walking past Newyorknewyork, swensens, fig and olive, ding tai feng. hehe. What did the Monster have for lunch? Milk - GAH. Ordered a sandwich and pumpkin soup for him but he was just impossible to Feed cause he was too busy playing with his bowl, spoon and a piece of bread *bread was free-flow*. So we just let him have his way while I quickly gobble up my foooood and then give him his milk! :)

After that, we went to the new NTUC Xtra annd look!!! FABULOUS find! I'm so going to go there for more after this.. too bad the cars are so limited. Travis's eyes lit up once he saw the cars and kept pointing at them. Good thing he got a go at it!

Dinner with Javier...

Well, it was kind of a xmas exchange dinner. 12 days of xmas, so xmas exchange still stands! :) The budget we set for Javier's and Travis's gift was 30bucks. hehe... we bought a wooden toy for Javier and guess what Travis got in return? HEHE starts with a B... well, must be pretty obvious.

HEre's Travis, wondering what Javier is doing! :) HE took off his shoes twice that night. Must have been too big a pair...2 family shots... :)Dinner was at shokudo restaurant, in citylink. Food wise, not so bad, ambience, okay, baby-friendly NAH! Still we managed to finish off our foooood, despite the 2 boys making loads of noise. ehehe.

Okies, when we got home, was kind of late already and Travis just Zonked off, so we left the unwrapping of the B present till the next day morning!

His First Night Out of home sweet home...

Okay not considered first night out haha, if you consider the hospital stay! muahhaha. We went for a one night hotel stay at Pan Pacific Orchard for xmas eve - xmas day. It was extremely fun! for HIM of course! not for us... considering the amount of barang we had to bring just for ONE night. haha.

But it was so worth it, the nightout really made us realise that We CAN bring him abroad. He loves pressing the buttons, switching on and off the lights, tv, opening the cupboard doors, and yes STILL NOT WALKING! my wish of him walking by xmas - BUSTED> well well. Still hoping for New Year ! SUrprise US TRAVIS!

It was raining all day long on xmas eve. And we checked in really late, 3pm, when we could have checked in at 2. JEFF's work again. And after his milk at 4pm, we went Forum, walk a bit then went to Chongqing hotpot for steamboat buffet. AFter dinner, he zonked off for a 30min nap at 730pm, for he was AWAKE since 1230pm! We went wheellock, then isetan, where he got up at 8pm and we headed back to the hotel for little nyonya. Grrr. Around 9pm, he drank his milk, did his stunts, press button, remote controls, climb here and there, flip here and there, before finally deciding to zzz at 10pm! WOO! it is really extremely nice that he could fall asleep on his own even not on OUR bed.

BEfore we continue, and bore you, MERRY XMAS from Travis and us! hehe See he's in the festive mood too ahaha!

2 birthdays...

Yesterday was a special day. Travis helped celebrate 2 person's bday! One was his Uncle Vic - my sis's bf and the other was Reyes, Jeff's friend's little handsome Boy. Reyes is turning 2 tomorrow! 23dec and Uncle vic.. well let's keep his age a secret. hehee..

I realised I didn't take any photos of uncle vic and his cake but hehe many photos of Reyes at his home. As usual, Travis was really antisocial and took some time to warm up before he could play with Reyes and Chloe. Chloe has the exactly one yr older than Reyes.

Here is Travis, directing the 2 what games to play. But aiya, in actual fact, he doesn't know what the other 2 are playing! hahah!

Then he wanted to take the decorative balls from the xmas tree and Chloe wanted to stop him! She's a very active and outspoken little girl. HEHE! keeps saying: Didi stand up! well.

He's always been such a handsome boy! So fair! :) Travis was super zonked out yesterday. Didn't drink his normal milk at 9pm, zzz from 8pm all the way till 7am this morning! WAHAHAHAHAH!!

CANNOT WALK YET. His Javier friend, can walk already. But nevermind, as the saying goes, the later you walk, the better life you'll have. So while we wait patiently.

Yes, though he can't speak yet, We know what's on his mind. Afterall, ACtion speaks louder than words. Still cannot walk on his own yet, but very ambitiously wanting to push his tricycle all around at home. So we just let him be, hoping this acts as a walker. muahahha. Maybe suddenly he might just decide to let go of the tricycle and walk on his own!

The tricycle moves quite fast on its own, and we're so afraid of him falling flat on his face but he just doesn't want help. When we hold the handle, he pushes our hand away. When we hold the tricycle from the front, he peeks and shouts at us once he sees our hand or leg there hahha.

I can do it! don't help me!Okay, sides look good. Wheels okay!Safety guard also working - no one's sitting inside.. oh I pity his poor little sis when she is out and being pushed around.... OKAY! ready to go!
Travis is an extremely lazy boy, can imagine him to be the quick to success type. Takes huge steps, when pushing the tricycle. When we hold him, his steps are also extremely huge so as to reach nearer to us quickly, and we have to carry him. I so want him to walk, yet fear the thoughts of him walking. Hhaha.

In other news, his flu is getting better today, so didn't give him his medicine *on it for 5days already*, and it turned out he is so AWAKE that he didn't need his morning nap today! Almost died in the morning playing and running after him. His appetite is getting harder to please, no idea what is it that he is looking out for in his meals. Porridge is boring for him, but yet he is too lazy to chew harder foods. Poor us, cracking our brains to make him tastier foods.

Finally, these past 2 to 3 days, we could get him to sit in his tricycle. Haha. When we bought it, he refused to get on it, only wants to play with the wheels, pedals and putting his toys in and out of the front and back baskets.

This morning, hehe we decided to put him inside and managed some shots! hehe his pajamas is matching in colour! muahahaha.In other news, YAY! his passport application is APPROVED! hehe my phototaking skills Good EH! hahaha!!

The one class which Travis likes!! He was such a brave boy yesterday! NO TEARS from him at last. So happy. We attended the class with Javier, and other nov babies, Ashlee and Garreth. SO jealous at Ashlee's walking !!

AFter the lesson, we headed off, Javier and Travis and US of course!! hhehe, we went to Marina Sq for dinner and Suntec for dessert. Haha, here's Travis and Javier, having a tough fight! HAHA, okies don't laugh at us please, we haven't made him a passport. Never thought of going overseas, yes not even malaysia so we didn't see the need to make him one. BUT after persistent pushes from Joey - Javier's mom, we decided to make him one!

Here's some random shots I took of him, well, I tried taking of him with a white background. I tried using the wall, it doesn't work. SO I just used a non-used mattress to put it behind him. BUT LOOK. LAZYIness emerged.

If you're wondering what he's smiling and looking at, think no further. it's TELEVISION. and if you're wondering what program, Crack your head no more. it's BARNEY. :) Tried to take without the TV but just cannot keep him sitting there STILL enough for me to manage some shots.

After some time, hehe, finally got some candidates!

Choice number 1 - I submitted this to ICA. don't know will get approved or not. if not, maybe will send them the second choice. :)Okies! That's all! Wanted to wait till the second one is out then make together, but jeff said since we already have picts, make his first loh!

Not exactly reading, more of pointing and wanting to flip the pages! but because it's a board book, the pages, hard to turn, end up, he just throw them and push them aside! Want to teach him so much things, sometimes he knows, sometimes he refuse to know, don't know whether he truly knows or not.This fake clock is one of his fav toys, or papers, or whatever haha!

Bought him the aquadoodle mat on sunday, hmmm, he doesn't really know how to draw yet! or rather, should I say, don't know how to use the pen!

So after getting pissed and fedup, he just sat on the MAT! -.-"" See the tricycle at the back? No photos yet cause he doesn't like to sit in it. I wonder why. HE just loves to push it around, front back, play with the wheels and pedals.

Found a new liking by the monster. He loves to play with bowl and spoon! :) A chef in the making? haha Told jeff i wanted to get him those cooking set for him to play with and he scolded me: TRAVIS Is a boy ley, what are you thinking.. ahaha! well, you can see the pictures below, u know he loves it :).

All these were taken at the japanese restaurant at B1 of paragon. The service is SUPERB but food okok only. :)

Met Javier for a trial at the little gym at Forum, but alas, haha JAvier was too busy sleeping so Travis went for trial on his own. poor thing, cry buckets again and Jeff was so mad at me making him *travis and himself* go through such lessons! but well, sighs, my good intentions, no one understands. Don't really know the reason why Travis behaves like a monster outside and a mouse in class. 2 faced monster T.

Before the trial, he was all smiles, playing with bead chasers at one of the shops. Managed to take a few picts before the sales assistant said: NO PHOTOTAKING! haha!

Happiness is...

1) watching him enjoy his bath, he loves bath time. Bubbles. The main reason why. The after bath part is NIGHTMARE!! dressing him, powdering him, diapering him up, OMG. you don't want to imagine it. My poor bed has been the target of his PEE because we were just too slow in getting him dressed. Poor dirty bed.

2) Happiness is watching hin play his toys. Love him so. Hate him so.

3) Happiness is... Watching him GET SERIOUS. haha!

His birthday!! :) Celebration at mcdonald's kallang. Headache at sourcing for suitable venues as most were taken already! So we had to make do with Mac. But still ok and still very affordable inddeeeedd! :)

Javier was the only friend of his age who was there. HAHA he's awfully CUTE!

So they played together... While the rest. The rest were just family members. played on their own. HAHAH!

The kids were eating his cake! haha! :) Cake ordered from ecreative. 2kg. Just enough for guests. the design is extremely LOVELY.

Well thens, Travis has turned 1. How time flies. Still doesn't know how to walk. Just to cry to get his way. Travis with my sister, my dad and my mom.

Oct18th. Javier and Travis went on a swimming date. :) Didn't manage to take any photos of javier cause mostly in videos! heheh.

Should have brought him swimming earlier haha but no available place! I will definitely have trouble dressing him at the public pool!! haha!! imagine how to wear his pampers! So we decided to join javier at his aunt's condo!

Well, so u can guess how busy we've been! hehe!!

On Oct12, he went to the mygym trial with Javier! :) We were both late for the 210 Slot, so we had to wait till the 4pm slot. haha...

But alas, happiness didn't last long, when the actual class started, RAIN fell. grrr. JAvier on the other hand, was having SO MUCH FUN!!

It has been some time since I updated here! not that nothing's happening. Much has been happening but no time to update and difficult to take photos! ehhe!!

Ever since he cried at mygym during elysia's bday party, I've decided.. and convinced jeff we need to expose the monster more!! He's a terror at home but out there, he's a meek boy. hehe! We brought him to kindermusik trial over the wkend with Javier, bah, CRY again. Javier was soo enjoying himself! grrrr.

Other news, travis still doesn't know how to walk yet and he's turning 1 in 1months' time! think he won't be able to know how to walk by the time he's one! But one or 2 things he knows very well is to wave byebye and clap his hands. hahah. And he can call me ma-ma! and when he sees food, he says mum-mum. Sometimes you wonder if the 2 are the same. Weeelll, haha. Think positive.

He loves to throw it! well, actually, he loves to throw EVERYTHING. the worst thing is, he likes to throw them under sometihng, under his playpen, under the sofa, under the table, then act pitiful when he can't reach them. Infuriating! When u get it for him, he throws again!! Haha!!

This is still one of most FAV toys we got from my aunt's place. IT has spinning wheels and a moving train. His fav hobby in the past was stare at it.Now his fav hobby is try to dig the train out!

Haha and lastly, another new hobby for him, climbing to the TV and standing there. He just loves to do it. I wonder why he doesn't move left and right!!

Not travis. But Elysia. It was Jeff's colleague's bb girl's First birthday! She turned one last sunday on 21 September. She is so pretty, so well behaved, so quiet, Like an angel. She was totally the opposite of the ugly, monstrous, noisy TRAVIS!.

Meet the birthday girl, Elysia. She was sooo well dressed, and Sooo wellbehaved in her pinky pram when her mommy was going around making sure guests were here and all. No, no noise at all when she saw her mommy busying away or when nobody played or talked to her. She just sat there looking around. Sooo sweet. I wish i had a little girl like her.

Elysia invited us to her bday celebration at mygym at the woodlands branch. Here she is, before the party started! Playing with balls...
She could just play on her own! endless fun for her. hehe are you wondering where's monster travis? well here he is!

I have no idea what happened, we tried to calm him, bring him outside but no matter how we tried, how many times we tried to rejoin the play, he just CRIED.

So perhaps we should bring him to play with his peers of his own age more often. ? Maybe it will make him more sociable. haha.
